2. TRAY PREPARATION
If you don’t use the trays as soil containers for cultivation, you can also use them as supports for your plant pots. Be careful to not have a load heavier than 30 kg. per tray. Water supplied to the bottom of the trays provides automatic irrigation also for your pots.
If, however, you wish to cultivate in the trays, you will need to prepare each one as follows:
Place an even layer of about two centimetres of commercially produced expanded clay (around 5 litres) in the tray. Make sure you completely cover the space between the tray’s base and the end of the water supply tube.
Once you have covered the base evenly with the expanded clay, fill it with universal potting soil to the top.
